As part of the bigger Wilderness City project, a site in Hertfordshire was
used as a test case to explore the issues. Instead of a suburban estate of
twenty detached houses, each with a small plot of land, the proposal was to
create two 'hamlets' each of ten houses, each house being a high density
small footprint unit with a very large ground floor social space, a roof
garden, and lift-access private rooms above that.
