The Teleport project for La Vaunage-Calvisson, near Nimes, was intended
to act both as a symbol and a prototype for Europe's first privately owned,
satellite based business and telecommunications community.
It was sited on
a wooded hill top within a 142-hectare, ecologically planned development,
at the centre of which was a large pylon, like an ancient megalith,
surrounded by water.
