Designed in the office of Anthony Williams and Burles for the British Steel Corporation, this patented metal roof structure comprised three heavily swaged, thin gauged, pressed metal sections which, when spot welded together, formed stiff coffers.
These could then be clamped together at the corners to form a self-finished colour-coated roof structure capable of spanning 6-9 metres and cantilevering up to 2.7 metres.
