This project for a 20-storey office building of 33,444m2 (360,000ft2) was
designed with EPR Architects and formed part of the British Land Plc
Regents Place development.
The plan form is a simple square with an offset
service core to make a double-cube block. The block is clad with a random
cut stone brise-soleil made to appear solid when viewed from below like a
stratified rock monolith.
A fissure has been cut through the monolith to
form an atrium from which a cascade of glass crystals poors like quartz into
a black, reflective pool in the square below.
