The design was commissioned by the local community in Pimlico to provide
a template for a new 1200 pupil school to meet the requirements of the
National Schools for the Future programme.
The result was a plan incorporating a high density, highly sustainable new school building in a
block plan that re-established the original 'Pimlico Grid' as set out by the
architect-builder Cubitt.
