No 1 Neathouse Place is accorded 'Landmark' Status
The Westminster City Council draft Victoria Area Planning brief of May 2010 cites several buildings in the Victoria Area (of London) that have 'unique qualities in terms of their architectural quality, important townscape role, and relative height'. These are termed landmark buildings - buildings that future developments should take account of and ensure a well managed relationship with: Alongside Westminster Cathedral, Victoria Station and seven others is No 1 Neathouse Place - a building we completed in 1997.
This building went on to win many awards including the British Council for Offices Award; Westminster Society's Award; British Construction Industry Award; National Lighting Design Award; Aluminimum Imagination Award; Glassex Award and many others.
Neathouse Place workplace design
The brief called for seven new break-out spaces, kitchens and conference rooms plus a top floor board room and dining area for the company directors.
The design features a cylindrical conference room placed at the entrance to each of floors that will define the spaces around it into the four connected but individual areas; an open plan office; a break-out space, an entrance and a kitchen.
The top floor boardroom consists of two curved shapes which unify the floor functions and leave a generous dining space with stunning views over central London.
