Located directly under the flight path of runway No 2, the permitted
envelope for this 29,860m2 (321,400ft2) building was heavily constrained by
flight safety contours.
The form derives from a study of the acoustic
requirements that such a site necessitates, the deep overhangs shielding
the faŤade from the higher frequency sound waves and the angled double-
glazing combating the lower frequencies.
