The brief for this mixed-use development on the corner of Tottenham
Court Road and Oxford Street called for three levels of shops and
restaurants to be linked into a new underground station below, and offices
and a hotel above.
Based on Japanese 'capsule' hotels, the hotel tower was
envisaged as a sophisticated, well-serviced 'crash-pad' offering overnight
accommodation in the heart of central London to out-of-town theatre-goers and itinerant or late working businessmen.
